The Gender Pain Gap
Studies show that women's complaints about pain are often dismissed, disregarded or insufficiently addressed in medical settings. Following many accounts by women who told us they experienced severe pain during gynecological procedures, and since there are no clear protocols or guidelines for pain management in these procedures, we decided to conduct a survey on this topic. The goal of the survey is to understand the experiences and needs of women and, based on that, create new protocols and guidelines.

We conducted an online survey among women regarding their experiences of pain in gynecological treatment. The survey included questions about pain and anxiety, and communication regarding pain, in specific procedures.
Approximately 1,500 women participated in the survey. We are currently analyzing the data. Soon, we will publish a comprehensive report on the subject, including concrete recommendations for physicians and healthcare organizations.
