A leadership group at Beit Issie Shapiro is working to improve healthcare access for women with disabilities. Their research highlights major barriers, including lack of physical accessibility, medical staff's limited knowledge and stigmas, and degrading treatment—especially in gynecology. These challenges often prevent women from receiving essential care, endangering their health.
To address this, the group is developing a training program for medical and administrative staff. The program will provide knowledge about disabilities, accessibility tools, and personal testimonies to promote inclusive and respectful care.
This initiative is part of a broader social change movement, including policy advocacy. Training effectiveness will be assessed through feedback and research, ensuring ongoing improvement and wider implementation.
