Project Goal:
Integrating trauma-informed care into family medicine by training representatives from residency departments in HMOs, who will later train their colleagues.
Project Overview:
The recent war has underscored the urgent need for trauma-informed medical care, particularly in primary care settings.
This project will develop a training program for department representatives, including expert lectures and simulations. Key steps include:
Selecting suitable candidates from family medicine residency programs.
Organizing training sessions in various formats (conferences, intensive workshops).
Enabling trained representatives to instruct residents and interested physicians and, where feasible, making it a mandatory periodic training for primary care providers.
Family medicine residency departments serve as a continuity hub, shaping the next generation of specialists. By leveraging regional coordinators and HMOs support, this program aims to create a sustainable and scalable training framework, ensuring ongoing education and implementation of trauma-informed care in primary care settings.
